Featured Work
As a creative person, I need a personal space online to write about my experiences and ideas. I took my skills as a developer and put together a blog. It's easy for me to update if I ever want to write some more. Because I'm my own client, I decided to go with an approach that let me make changes locally rather than from a CMS.

One of my primary repsonsibilities during my time with Preemptive Love was the maintenace and improval of their titular site. I was one of two front-end engineers. This tenure-length project was always pushing my skills as a developer because of my use of multiple coding languages and the frequence in which I jumped between them. The site averages over 150k visitors monthly and could potentially peak at higher numbers during times of international crisis.

For their 2019 end-of-year capital campaign, I was tasked to create a more immersive experience for site visitors. We created an experience that was a mix of the popular "stories" format and a familiar webpage. The project was part of a campaign that brought the largest number of donations for the year.

This form is one of the most mission-critical pieces I worked on. It was the center of online payment processing for Preemptive Love and the primary way many people interacted with the website. This form is embedded on virtually every page of their primary site and other microsites and campaigns.

During the summer of 2020, Preemptive Love began an online series of events with Eventbrite and Zoom. As part of the marketing campaign, we created a microsite detailing the events. This project's primary feature was its integration with Eventbrite's API. We used the API to create a custom styled schedule of events.

In the fall of 2019, Preemptive Love released a short film titled "Love Anyway". It was a major project that included the voice of Kristen Bell. One of the post-film call-to-actions was to become a monthly donor to Preemptive Love. In order to showcase our community of donors, we created a feature that integrated Mapbox and their API to display anonymized data of the general areas our donors came from.
